dear ben, i read the first chapter of your book three times over the weekend, and loved it. many, many thanks. i hope the book does as well as i think it ought to.

The New Suffolk Hymnbook is wonderful. Having read it (and re-read it), I keep finding, as I go about my day, often in the most prosaic moments, the language returning to me like an echo, those beautifully wrought characters appearing like shadows behind me. I do hope another novel is in the works.

Read the novel twice, enjoyed it thoroughly. Thought some chapters some of the best fiction I have read in a long while–Jarvis, in particular, and Piety. Thanks Ben. I’ll be back in CT in May, so let’s get coffee. And get the hell back on this blog! We miss you.
